Technical Writing: 5 Essential Survival Skills
Technical
writing! It sounds intimidating, but it doesn't have to be. When the day arrives that you are asked to express in
writing what you do, what you did, or what you want - you'll be ready. This type of writing is
called technical writing. And although it is not writing you perform daily, it is the type of writing that can
make or break a career.
Effective technical writing hinges on demonstrating expertise in the 5 essential
writing elements listed below. Effective technical writers know how to: - involve the reader
- follow
a consistent format
- present ideas in an orderly and logical manner
- provide visual appeal
- eliminate unnecessary words
